West 4 Harriers is a sociable running club based in Chiswick, West London. New runners are encouraged to get in touch before attending their first session so the club can welcome you properly — Monday evenings are a great introduction. Club nights take place on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, meeting at Chiswick Cricket Club on Riverside Drive (W4 2SP). The clubhouse sits close to the river and Dukes Meadows, making it a popular spot for post-run drinks in the summer. Monday: A relaxed 4–6 mile social run, ideal for new and prospective members. Tuesday & Thursday: Structured hill and speed sessions focused on improving fitness and performance. Training routes typically include the Thames towpath between Hammersmith and Kew, Richmond Park during the summer months, and local roads through winter. Members regularly compete in races of all distances, both in the UK and abroad, although there’s no obligation to race. The club also hosts a monthly handicap event (3 miles in summer, 4 miles in winter) and competes in the Surrey League cross-country competitions during winter. Prospective runners are welcome to try a few sessions before deciding to join. Annual membership costs £35, with an optional England Athletics affiliation (£55 total) for those wishing to compete officially and receive EA benefits such as discounted race entries. With regular weekly sessions throughout the year, West 4 Harriers offers consistent training, racing opportunities and a strong West London running community.
